About TORead | 關於多讀
TORead is a Toronto-based independent bookstore and cultural project dedicated to Traditional Chinese books and the communities that read them. We curate a specialized selection of literature, humanities, arts, and cultural titles, with a particular focus on Hong Kong writing, Japanese aesthetics, and Cantonese language heritage. Our Japanese Art & Lore collection is the most personal corner of TORead, curated through the founder's long-standing interest in Japanese art and aesthetics.
TORead began as a personal lending project, a small collection of books shared among community members who couldn't easily find Traditional Chinese titles in Canada. Over time, that collection grew into what it is today: a curated bookstore with a catalogue grounded in the same spirit of access and care.
We believe that books are not just commodities. They are records of how people lived, thought, and made sense of the world around them.
Institutional & Scholarly Services
TORead works with public libraries, university collections, schools, senior care centres, and researchers across North America. We specialize in sourcing Traditional Chinese titles that are difficult to find through mainstream channels, and handle the full process from acquisition to delivery, including international logistics and customs compliance. Institutions looking to build or expand a Traditional Chinese collection are welcome to get in touch.
Where We Are
Our books can be found online and at our partner location in Richmond Hill. We ship across Canada and the United States, with no sales tax on all orders.
多讀是一家位於多倫多的獨立書店，同時也是一個文化項目。我們專注於繁體中文書籍的策展與推廣，選題涵蓋文學、人文、藝術與香港文化，並設有專門的廣東話語言研究及東洋美學選書。東洋美學一輯，源於創辦人對日本藝術的個人興趣，選書以此為眼光，是多讀最具個人色彩的部分。
多讀的起點，是一個人的借書項目。一批書，在社區之間流傳，填補了加拿大繁體中文書籍難以取得的空缺。這個小小的分享，慢慢長成了今天的樣子。
我們相信，書不只是商品。書是一種紀錄，記錄人們如何生活、如何思考、如何在時代的洪流中尋找自己的位置。

多讀為北美的公共圖書館、大學館藏、學校、護老中心及研究人員提供繁體中文書籍的採購服務。我們專注於尋找主流渠道難以獲取的稀缺書目，並負責處理採購至送達的完整流程，包括國際物流及海關合規事宜。歡迎有興趣建立或擴展繁體中文館藏的機構與我們聯絡。
